Inviting us to Cons

Let's say you're the guest coordinator for a gaming convention. You want to get some big names from the game industry to swing by and talk about their stuff, run demos, and all that good stuff. Well, if you can't get'em, or you have money left over in the guests budget, you can almost always get me.

I'm more than willing to go to just about any con in the world, with only two conditions. First, that I'm not doing anything important that weekend, and second, that it doesn't cost me anything.

Odds are, I'm not doing anything that weekend. Selling games is what I do for a living, and going to cons is a good way to do that, so about the only thing you have to worry about is whether I'm going to another con. Even then, feel free to ask. Odds are I can come to one personally and send a rep to the other.

Then there's the cost bit. Again, less of an obstacle than you'd think. If you invite me to your con, there's 3 basic needs of mine you need to deal with. I have to get there somehow, I need to sleep somewhere, and I need to eat at some point. If you're willing to fly me out first class, put me up in a nice hotel, and write me a blank check to cover me on food, that's great. Really though, I'm totally fine with gas money, a dark quite corner with a couch in it, and $5 for one decent meal and access to the free junk food you're scattering around for attendees.

That's if I'm personally attending mind you. If I'm sending a representative, they'd potentially have slightly higher standards, likely balanced out by shorter travel distances.
